Permissions has always been one of those necessary evils, with many ways to setup and manage permissions in NAV. In this blog, we are going to go over adding a new role. If your organization requires more than the predetermined security roles, you can create more specific roles to meet your needs.

In NAV classic client, with Navigation Pane Designer, you can change menus for other users, groups of users or for every user. Design your own menus and have the users see only menu items they have permissions for setup in the user-roles.

When using NAV role tailored client, the profiles need to be setup to match the users and positions within the company. But there will always be users that need 2 or maybe even more profiles because their position requires access to multiple areas. How to solve this issue?
